The Philippine Declaration of independence states that the sun in the flag represents the ‘gigantic steps taken by the children of this country on the road to progress and civilisation’. It is good to look back and remember the original meaning of our Araw, as it spurred and continues to spur us to keep moving forward and explore the many roads of development in this generation and the next.
